Congratulations to
everyone who ran the Chevron Houston Marathon
this past weekend. The race was very well
organized with a super expo, our names in large
type on the bibs which helped the loud crowds
personalize their cheers, plenty of well stocked
and staffed aid stations, and a great meal
following the race. Below are the USCAA 2009
Marathon Championship results.
Congratulations to
Lockheed Martin and their winning team. Their
team score of 329.15 is the second highest team
score since we moved to age graded results
(Lucent's team score was 338.13 at the 2000
USCAA marathon). We had a number of teams that
either were new to the USCAA marathon or had not
been in a number of years--a hearty welcome goes
out to Kinder Morgan, Northwestern Mutual, and
Raytheon. In total we had 134 corporate
finishers.
I will work with
the New Orleans Mardi Gras Marathon on
confirming their interest in hosting our 2010
USCAA Marathon Championship and then pass it
over to the USCAA Board of Directors for their
approval. I hope to see everyone at the start
line in the Big Easy on Sunday, February 28,
2010.
