AT&T Running and Fitness Team
1997 USCAA Marathon Results

On Sunday, January 12, 1997 the AT&T marathon team competed in the
Houston Methodist Health Care Marathon. We were the defending champions,
having won the title in 1995 and 1996 but the split up of the company
took its toll on our team. AT&T finished 5th, not what we wanted, but still
ahead of the majority of the teams.

As you read through the results, be aware that the weather in Houston was
sleet, rain, windy, with the temperature range 30-32 F.  The conditions were
described as the worst in the 25 year history of the race (formerly called
the Houston-Tenneco marathon).

The 1998 USCAA marathon championships will probably be in Houston next
January. We will be selecting the team during the fall. If you have an
interest in being part of the team, or if you know anyone who might help
us in our quest to regain the title, please call me before September '97.
If we are to make a serious challenge for the championships, we have to
begin training seriously by the end of the summer.
PLEASE PASS THESE RESULTS TO OTHERS -- WE WANT ALL OUR RUNNERS TO BE
AWARE OF THIS RACE - AND TO BE READY FOR 1998!!
